Space Electronics Division

SMI's Space Electronics Division (info page) is focused upon space and military applications. It is a pioneer in providing radiation hardened by design solutions for advanced electronic systems and microelectronics. Space Micro is a leader in the research and development of solutions for single event effects in microelectronics and high performance space computers. Customers include NASA, Missile Defense Agency, the US Air Force, additional government agencies, and aerospace companies.

Microwave and RF Division

Space Micro's Microwave and RF Division (info page) is committed to providing our customers with innovative designs and leading-edge technologies. Our design, assembly, and test processes support both Military and Space-based radar, communications, and sensor applications. Space Micro is able to augment each design with radiation mitigation solutions including Total Dose (TID), Single Event Upset (SEU), and Latchup (SEL), through our innovative radiation-mitigation technologies.

Advanced Materials Division

The Advanced Materials Division (info page) develops systems and solutions to the materials challenges of space, military, and performance-critical applications. Examples include non destructive evaluation (NDE) to detect problems before they cause failure in Naval and Aerospace applications and thermal mapping systems for high speed wind tunnel models.

Domestic Security Division

The Domestic Security Division (info page) performs R&D that provides our nation with the tools for detection and safe disposition of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) Threats. Currently in development is the "Radiation Source Identification and Targeting Equipment" or RadSITE™; a transportable, remotely operable radiation detection system that provides source localization and isotope identification.
