IT-System Administrator Dynamic fast-growth small high-tech business seeks a junior IT System Administrator to manage an internal network and servers consisting of Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS X computers. The candidate must have strong background in Linux operating system, shell scripting, and GNU/Open Source tools; this is essential to manage the Linux-based servers. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in Linux and Windows networking as well as interfacing Linux and Windows computers. The candidate must be self-motivated, proactive, and be able to respond to critical issues/problems rapidly and efficiently. He/she must have the ability to perform in a fast paced, engineering-oriented business. Primary Job Responsibilities: Install, upgrade, and maintain Linux servers (with Fedora Core distributions) including Postfix, Samba, Cups, Apache, NIS, OGO, and NFS servers. Install and manage Microsoft Windows computers with a Samba domain controller and using VMware virtual machines. Provide onsite support at Space Micro Inc.’s office for everyday networking and computer-related issues/problems. Must be able to lift and carry approximately 50 lbs. in order to migrate/relocate servers and hardware across the building.
