Software Internship

San Diego based Space Micro Inc. is a small R&D business founded in 2002, focusing on government funded R&D that develops new Space Micro technologies and products. The vision of Space Micro is to provide leading edge products into niche electronics markets, based on protected, proprietary technologies and funded by a profitable stream of research contracts.

The requirements of the position are: 

  • Must be enrolled in B.S., M.S., or equivalent program in Computer Science/Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

  • Must be willing to work on site (no telecommuting) during school year.

  • Minimum commitment of 3 months is required.

  • Ability to work in Linux programming environment with knowledge of C++ and C programming languages.

  • Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.

  • Basic understanding of computer architectures.

The responsibilities of the position are:

  • Write embedded software in C++ for single-board computers manufactured by Space Micro Inc. for satellite and space applications.

  • Help integrate components of embedded systems via low-level programming in C/C++/Assembly languages.

  • Work in a fast-paced development team.
