Space Micro Moves to Expanded, Upgraded Facility

Meeting the market demand for higher volume production for satellite constellations

San Diego, CA – May 23, 2019

Space Micro announced their move into an expanded and upgraded facility in northern San Diego, effective Tuesday, May 28, 2019. After eight years at the Flanders Court facility, Space Micro will move to 15378 Avenue of Science, also in northern San Diego.

The new facility provides both expanded laboratory space and manufacturing testing clean rooms to support larger production volumes. It also provides existing classified areas to support certain DoD space programs.

“Our expansion is driven by customer demand for our high reliability satellite subsystem products, including the optical communications (lasercom) terminals,” said David Strobel, CEO. “Both commercial SATCOM and DoD constellations in low earth orbit (LEO) will have dramatically higher production volumes than the traditional ‘Big Space’ programs. With our new facility, Space Micro now can meet this market demand.”
