Space Micro to Attend 36th Space Symposium

San Diego, CA – March 10, 2020

Space Micro Inc. will attend the 36th Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colorado March 30 – April 2, 2020. Space Micro will have a 3D-printed scale model of its µLCT™ 100 Laser Communications Terminal’s optical head on display in booth #1345 in Lockheed Martin Exhibit Center North.

The µLCT 100 Laser Communications Terminal transmits and receives at 100 Gbps -- the highest satcom data rate available. Based on Telcordia-grade 1550 nm telecom components, the µLCT 100 boasts a SEL threshold of > 60 MeV-cm2/mg, SEFI immunity, and 30 krads(Si) total ionizing dose tolerance, with the option of reaching up to 100 krads(Si). The complete system comprises an optical modem, optical power amplifiers, pointing, acquisition and tracking (PAT) electronics and an optical head. The µLCT 100 can be used as an Optical Inter-Satellite Link (OISL), a spacecraft to ground link or a spacecraft to UAV link.

Subject matter experts will be on-hand during the symposium to discuss all of Space Micro’s innovations in communications, electro-optics and digital systems. Our space-qualified, radiation-hardened advanced technology is optimized for a variety of spacecraft sizes, including our family of American-made stellar attitude determination systems.
