Space Micro Inc. Forms Subsidiary
SD Technologies Inc. to focus upon Homeland Security business. SAN DIEGO, CA - January 15, 2008 – Space Micro Inc. announced today the formation of a new subsidiary, SD Technologies Inc. (SDTI). “We are very pleased to provide the Domestic Security Division the opportunity to expand its business in a very different arena and customer base as the parent company, Space Micro”, said David J. Strobel, CEO of Space Micro. Mr. James Winso is named CEO of SDTI with Mr. Eric Ackermann the President of SDTI. Mr. Winso and Mr. Ackermann each bring over 20 years of experience in the radiation detection and monitoring business from SAIC. The companies will continue to share a common facility and administrative support functions. SDTI will focus on the Homeland Defense business area. They plan to expand their current customer base, which includes DHS/DNDO, NASA, SAIC, and the Center for the Advancement of Advanced Technology (CCAT). Current product offerings include RADSITE™, a directional gamma radiation finder, and a ubiquitous radiation dosimeter that is semiconductor based.
