Space Micro Celebrates 17 Years of Satellite Success

San Diego, CA – March 1, 2019

Space Micro is celebrating its 17th anniversary as a company, after being founded by three employees in 2002 in Poway, Calif.

Far from a startup now, the employee-owned company has grown to a major affordable spacecraft subsystem provider specializing in SmallSats and CubeSats.  Operating in a modern 40,000 sq. ft. San Diego facility, Space Micro has earned a flawless reputation for high-reliability systems and has amassed nearly one million hours of space flight heritage. Space Micro typically has 25 active contracts and is a qualified supplier to virtually every United States space prime contractor and government agency.

“Starting with a small Air Force Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract in 2002 for radiation hardened space computing, we have expanded into a broad product line of satellite computing, imaging, RF communications, lasercom, and guidance & control solutions,” said Space Micro’s CEO, David J. Strobel.

Space Micro extends its gratitude to customers, friends, family, and colleagues for their continued support.
