Space Micro delivers Proton100k™
Computers to NASA
For the
International Space Station
SAN DIEGO, CA - February 7, 2005 - NASA has selected Space Micro"s Proton100k™ single board computer for use as the core processor for medical equipment computers on the International Space Station (ISS).
"We are very pleased to have the opportunity to deliver our innovative technologies as a solution for NASA. This product delivers high performance, high reliability, low power consumption and solid radiation tolerance in one computer", said David Czajkowski, COO for Space Micro. "We believe this program is an important step in demonstrating the superior value of the Proton100k™ to the space industry."
The Proton100k™ computer incorporates Space Micro"s patent pending, advanced single event upset (SEU) and single event functional interrupt (SEFI) mitigation technologies. These single event effects are mitigated with the Time-Triple Modular Redundancy™, or TTMR™, built into the computer hardware and software, while SEFI is mitigated by Space Micro"s Hardened Core circuits. Combining these technologies into a single product allows the use of advanced commercial microprocessors in the harsh environment encountered in space.
