Raytheon Selects Space Micro for Advanced C&DH System
SAN DIEGO, CA - August 10, 2009 - Space Micro Inc has been awarded a subcontract from a undisclosed Raytheon Division to develop C&DH avionics boards for an advanced program. This system features VxWorks™ OS compatibility and state-of art processor radiation hardening tailored to its program needs. This Radiation Hardened (RH) Proton400k™ single board computer (SBC) is the heart of this avionics system which can include attitude control, tracking, ground command control, and other tasks. This Proton400k™ SBC is enabled by other Space Micro proprietary developments such as RH 4Gb Flash and RH 1Gb DDR2 memories.
David R. Czajkowski, CTO of the Space Electronics Division, commented, “Space Micro continues to provide the space community with state-of-art and cost effective electronics through its proprietary technologies which mitigate radiation effects in space that had previously required specially designed radiation hardened microcircuits to survive. This new contract builds on our previous TacSat and ORS series space hardware deliveries.”
