Space Micro's TPC™ Finalist for CONNECT's Most Innovative New Product Award
SAN DIEGO, CA - September 28, 2009 - Space Micro's Thermal Protection Coating (TPC™) has been named as a finalist for CONNECT's Most Innovative New Product Award.
Now in its 22nd year, the CONNECT Most Innovative New Products Awards are San Diego’s “Oscars” for local technology innovation. More than 100 companies of all sizes enter in eight categories: action and sport technologies, aerospace and security technologies, clean technology, communications and IT, hardware and general technology, life science-diagnostics and research tools, life science-medical products and software. Winners will be announced on December 11, 2009 before an audience of more that 800 of San Diego’s top executives, entrepreneurs, service providers, and academics.
Space Micro Inc’s Thermal Protection Coating (TPC™) is an easy to apply, easy to process, safe, high performance thermal protection coating. The coating is designed for advanced aerospace applications. TPC™ can be rapidly applied through traditional spray painting techniques and is cured at low temperatures in a short time, which is typically 60 minutes. It is safe to apply and leaves no toxic byproducts. Its proprietary formula enables broad useability on a range of materials, for applications from room temperature to 1400°C. The coating is lightweight, while maintaining a high level of durability, enhancing the functionality of the whole structure.
