Control Systems Engineer

Position Description:

Space Micro is looking for a Control Systems Engineer with hardware hands-on experience and Servo Control problem-solving capabilities. The Controls Engineer will join a design team building electro-optical systems including laser communication terminals and imagers. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with very strong problem-solving skills and also have demonstrated capability in design, integration and test of complex engineering systems.

• Development of mathematical algorithms for control systems, navigation, command generation, and attitude determination
• Computer modeling and simulation of space vehicle physics and phenomenology
• Advanced sensor alignment and calibration
• Control system integration and test

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor or Masters Degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Math or Physics
• 5+ years’ experience in dynamics and controls
• Experience with analytics, Matlab/Simulink and C/C++ programming
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of and experience with HW integration for electro-optical systems desirable
• Experience in space vehicle guidance, navigation, and control desirable
• Security clearance eligible, active security clearance desirable
